The 4 Ws

Image
These 4 components are a staple to my everyday "routine".  Once I am victorious in the first one, I MUST do the other three.  If not, my day is off.  I equate it to how many feel when they don't get that first cup of coffee lol Wake-up - God has given me another day ! Never take for granted the air that you breathe.  It wasn't the alarm clock that woke you up.  It was God!  Because He woke you up, you were able to hear the alarm clock go off.  Because I am grateful for life, it leads me to Worship. Worship- I begin to thank Him for the blessings.  I spend time with Him seeking wisdom and clarity and focus and direction.  Psalm 37:23 (TPT) " The steps of the God-pursuing ones  follow firmly in the footsteps of the Lord,  and God delights in every step they take to follow him."  It's in worship the I receive my instructions and charge for the day.  How will I know what I'm purposed to do unless I ask the One who cre...

Launching further into the deep

Image
Happy April!  It's a new month and it's the beginning of the second quarter!  It's always great to begin a new anything with something new. I have been challenged by God, yet again, in a new area.  Several months ago, He told me to launch a tee-shirt line.  And like I've said to Him before, "but everyone else is doing it". He just laughed and said, "but everyone is not doing THIS". I welcome you to L.O.Y.L., the line of tee-shirts created with the introvert in mind.  L.O.Y.L. stands for Living Out Your Lifestyle.  As an introvert, I would SO rather be behind the scenes, where I am most comfortable.  But God has pushed me to be in the front, center stage.  Not for me but for His glory.  I'm not the talk to flat out walk up to a group of people or even one person and strike up a conversation.  But I KNOW I have to share Jesus with the lost.  So God told me to create something that expresses my faith in action.  How do I SH...

F.I.T. For The Call

Image
F.I.T. For the Call " Have you forgotten that your body is now the sacred temple of the Spirit of Holiness, who lives in you? You don’t belong to yourself any longer, for the gift of God, the Holy Spirit, lives inside your sanctuary."   1 Corinthians 6:19- (The Passion Translation) I enjoy my sleep!  I am a very light sleeper.  The smallest sound wakes me up and sometimes I'm up for a while after that. I wish I could be that sound sleeper, or that person that falls asleep as soon as their head hits the pillow.  But I'm not.....I digress.....Because I am a child of God, my desires (flesh) must come under subjection to Him.  So although I'd much rather stay snuggled up under the warm covers, I force myself out the bed to pray and go exercise.  Now granted, I don't have far to go to the gym (basement- Praise Jesus for that)....but it's cold down there LOL This morning while I was working out, God told me, "take care of my instrument." ...

Worship So Hard

Image
Worship So Hard When I don't have the words to pray.... I worship  When I don't think I have the strength to get through the day... I worship.  See worship is more than a song. It's what pulls you through when you feel like you can't go on. See worship is more than just a rhythm and beat.... it's what lifts you up when life knocks you off your feet. So although I may be quiet, it doesn't mean that I am silent.  Because it is through worship that I say the most.

The Written Word

Image
The Written Word I used to think it was crazy to whip out a device such as a phone or camera to record a prophecy spoken over me.  I used to think it was not being in the Spirit if you are focused on making sure the word is recorded.  But I am so glad Holy Spirit checked me on this. Last night as I was working on a project God told me to complete for this year, I had this reminder: Then the  Lord  answered me, “Write the vision.   Make it clear on tablets  so that anyone can read it quickly. The vision will still happen at the appointed time.  It hurries toward its goal.  It won't be a lie.  If it's delayed, wait for it.  It will certainly happen. It won't be late." Habukkuk 2:2-3 The power of the written word.....the power of writing the spoken word (prophecy) over your life. As I was working, God had me go back and look over the word He spoke directly to me: 13 years ago! This is important for those times of dis...

Relationships

Image
Morning Quiet Time with Jesus Stop bringing what you see others do in their relationship with God into yours. The same way all natural relationships are different,  spiritual relationships are as well. What works with you and God isn't going to work in my relationship with Him. What we see others do and how they flow with God is different than how you flow with Him. Don't get upset that you aren't up bright eyed and bushy tail at 5:30 in the morning praying the heavens down. God wants you on the 10 pm watch. Don't feel weird that God speaks to you in un-traditional ways (through birds chirping or thunderstorms). Don't get frustrated that your passion and fervor doesn't come across like the next one. God designed us individually unique and that reflects in our individual relationships with Him. Blessings

Sin Remover

Image
This morning, while waiting for my son's school bus to arrive, I began taking my nail polish off.  I was only on the second nail and it seemed like 10 minutes had gone by.  The school bus arrived and off to school the Prince went.  As I continued removing the nail polish, I said out loud "wow this is taking longer than I thought to remove." God said, "that's just like sin". Me: "Sir?" God: "It's easy to sin because you were born in sin and shaped in iniquity.  But it's not easy to 'take sin off'.'  It's not just a quick 'say a prayer and I will forgive you'.  The same way you were determined to get ALL the nail polish off your nails, is the same way you have to be about removing ALL the sin in your life.  If you do a rush job, there's still a speck of polish here and there on your nails.  And many people are okay with that.  I'm not.  That's unacceptable to me.  You think it's okay because ...

Lord I Love You......

Image
This morning as I was having my QTWJ (quiet time with Jesus), I simply said, "Lord I love You". And as soon as I said it, I heard God gently say, "if you love me, keep my commands." (John 14:15).  All is could say was "yes my Lord." It was a gentle reminder to me, and to us all that love is an action word.  While it's nice to tell God how much we love Him, it's another thing to SHOW Him that we love Him.  We show that we love Him by being obedient.  We show Him we love Him by our service.  We show we love Him by feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, and sheltering the homeless.  We show we love Him by loving our fellow brothers and sisters in spite of what they do or say to us.  We show Him we love Him through our worship. God doesn't just want to HEAR our love for Him, He wants to SEE it!  The same way you show your spouse or your children or someone you care about how much you love them, God desires that too.  The same way you go...

In the Stillness

Image
Every morning when I wake up, I open my Morning Meditation playlist on YouTube and just sit.  I don't pray (yet) or do anything else.  I just sit. Do you know how hard it is to just be still?  It's one thing to be quiet.  But to be still takes a greater discipline.  Because in being still, you have to silence the "inner thoughts"  the "inner voices".  I'm the type of person, if I wake up in the middle of the night, I can NOT think about anything or I will be awake.  It can be the simplest thing.  Once my mind gets going, there's no turning it off. Even to go back to sleep for a few precious moments of snoozing. As I sit, usually on the bed, I focus on the music that I am listen to.  It's all instrumental.  No words, no even instrumentals of songs I know.  Just strings, flutes, and piano.  Anyone that knows me, knows I LOVE a good string driven song, especially if a Cello is involved. I don't talk to God (yet), I do...

MOMENT'em Focus

Image
MOMENT'em Focus I had the opportunity to be interview by Amia Freeman of MOMENT'em Faith & Fitness Leadership.  It was just candid conversations.  Two sisters in Christ chatting about Jesus over coffee (tea for me 😊) I pray you are blessed by our chat. We  busted down the lies that have kept many stuck.  We also talked about the tools needed    to help you live the life God has called you to live. Be blessed,

Imitator.....

Last night during prayer service at House of Triumph Ministries I witnessed the most beautiful exchange between father & son. When I picked my son, Nazir,  up from school, he insisted on bring Superman home with him. Superman is his sleeping bag that he has at school. So I brought it home.  When we were leaving for church that evening, he yet again insisted on bringing Superman with him. I thought great, he plans on falling asleep at the church.  We got to the church and my husband, Stephen, began setting up the sanctuary for prayer. He brought out the pillows from off the couch in the front and took his prayer shawl and draped it over himself.  As I led off the prayer, Stephen knelt down against one of the chairs and began praying.  Nazir was playing with his Leapster while we were setting up but as soon as he heard me praying he stopped playing it. He looked at his dad kneeling down and got in his sleeping bag and laid down on the chairs.  As the pr...
